It is a student movement, to work towards a tobacco free environment. It creates awareness on the evils of tobacco. It creates good-will ambassadors and advocates fighting against tobacco. CAT aims to involve children in creating a tobacco free environment. The children at school or a community volunteer to become a member to the movement to create awareness on the evils of tobacco and to advocate against tobacco. The movement helps to create goodwill young ambassadors who develop into responsible citizens in the future to fight against tobacco.

Any child between the age group of 8 and 18 years can become a member of CAT Movement after successful completion of the introductory training

Objectives of CAT

  • To create a student movement that works towards a tobacco free environment
  • To develop and train students into responsible citizens through intensive sensitization and participation in the movement
  • To enable schools to be the primary platform for the CAT movement

CAT Unit

A CAT unit is defined as a CAT movement formed in a School, NGO or by any organized groups in the community. A unit will have a CAT officer and an executive body. A CAT unit must consist a minimum of 10 children. The executive body comprises of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer who will be elected by the members of the CAT Unit.
