Marching towards a Tobacco Free Generation, Children Against Tobacco (CAT) will conduct a State Convention on 27th& 28th Feb, 2016.

Tobacco is the leading cause of many preventable deaths. According to the Global Adult Tobacco Survey India (2009-10), in Tamil Nadu 16% of adults (15 years and above) used tobacco. The ill effects of Tobacco Use is well known, however the everyday we come face to face with the intrusion and presence of tobacco. It may be in the form of secondhand smoke, advertisement of tobacco products, sale of tobacco products within 100 yards or the omnipresent cigarette butts and chewing tobacco product sachets. It is unfortunate that the today’s children are being exposed too such strategies wherein they get influenced into the consumption of tobacco.

The CAT State Convention aims at providing a platform for the CAT Members to come together and express their thoughts about the intrusion of tobacco.
